However, there are some beverages that you can drink to lower this high blood sugar level and hence, reduce your chances of developing diabetes.

1. Mango juice

Mango juice contains a water-soluble fiber called pectin. According to research, pectin has been shown to reduce cholesterol blood levels, especially LDL cholesterol blood levels. This fiber attaches itself to cholesterol molecules in the belly, so they do not pass into your blood.

2. Pomegranate Juice

Pomegranates contain an incredible amount of antioxidants that have been proven to reduce LDL cholesterol blood levels.

3. Green tea

Green tea contains antioxidants that have also been observed to decrease LDL cholesterol blood levels, and do nothing to HDL cholesterol levels. This is the opposite of what needs to happen for diabetes to develop. This, of course, means that diabetes will most likely not develop.

4. Almond milk

As the name implies, almond milk is milk made from almonds. It does not contain any cholesterol nor lactose, and it has very few other sugars, so chance of raising your blood sugar level are very low.

5. Chamomile tea

Chamomile tea is well known for its relaxing effects, but it also has another effect of regulating blood sugar levels. Chamomile tea has also been shown to relieve some of the symptoms of diabetes, such as blindness, poor blood circulation, nerve damage, etc.

6. Black tea

Black tea contains a lot of polysaccharides that reduce the rate at which the body absorbs sugars from the digestive system. This makes sure that the blood sugar level does not get too high too quickly, meaning that the body will have to release excess amounts of insulin which increases the chances of
developing resistance to insulin.

It also has compounds that may prevent the enzymes that convert starch into sugars from functioning at their best. This also ensures that blood sugar levels do not get too high too quickly.

Black tea contains antioxidants and polyphenols that fight against free radicals that cause oxidative damage. This, in turn, widens the blood vessels and also lowers blood pressure, causing there to be lower blood cholesterol levels.

Thus, regularly drink the beverages listed above to greatly decrease your chances of developing diabetes.
