Warning Signs That Your Liver Isn’t Functioning properly

Top 11 Warning Signs That Your Liver Isn’t Functioning Properly.

Beware! Those Toxins Are Accumulating In Your Fatty Tissues!

Liver – the heaviest and the second largest organ in the human body. It is probably one of the most hardworking organs of the body and performs a number of functions. It is a key player in our body’s digestive system as whatever you eat or drink passes through it.

Our liver sits exactly under the lower rib cage on the right side of our body and is about the size of a football (size may vary from person to person according to the body type).

The most important function of the liver is cleaning the blood by getting rid of harmful chemicals present in the body. It also helps in the production of bile, which, in turn, helps in breaking down the fat in the body. It helps in the storing of sugar (glucose), which provides a quick energy boost whenever required by the body.

  1. There is hormonal imbalance in the body.
  2. Improper digestion of food.
  3. You experience anxiety
  4. depression quite often.
  5. Constant headache.
  6. Joint pains.
  7. You feel lethargic.
  8. Chronic fatigue.
  9. Facial acne.
  10. Abdominal pain.
  11. Diarrhea or constipation.

Now, the next question that arises is how can you take good care of your liver, and if your liver is not functioning well, what can you do to improve its functioning? The answer to these questions is very simple. Firstly, eat food that is beneficial for your health, and secondly, bring about some positive changes in your lifestyle.

Here are some tips and tricks that can help you maintain a healthy liver:

  1. Drink plenty of water.
  2. Eat healthy fats.
  3. Go for a balanced diet that includes everything from plant proteins and meat to seeds and nuts.
  4. Avoid processed foods.
  5. Try to eat more of organic foods that are low in sodium and other toxic substances.
  6. Refined sugar is not good for our health. Thus, try to minimize its consumption.
  7. Do not cook food in inflammatory vegetable oils such as sunflower oil, corn oil or safflower oil.
  8. Reduce the consumption of fructose.
  9. Spinach, cabbage, parsley, chicken, and eggs are rich in amino acids. Eat more of them.
  10. You should also consume foods that are rich in sulfur, such as broccoli, eggs, sprouts, garlic, etc.
  11. Reduce alcohol consumption.
  12. Quit smoking.

Here are some foods that can help you take good care of your liver:

1. Apples

Apples are rich in pectin and other enzymes that are necessary to cleanse the system and release toxins from the digestive tract. Thus, they help the liver in handling the toxic overload during the cleansing process.

2. Avocados

Avocados are superfoods that are rich in nutrients. They help the body to produce a compound called glutathione that helps the liver in cleansing harmful toxins.

3. Green Tea

Green tea is rich in antioxidants. It contains catechins, which facilitate the proper functioning of the liver.

4. Carrots And Beetroots

Both carrots and beetroots are rich in flavonoids and beta-carotene. And thus, eating them can stimulate and improve the overall functioning of the liver.

5. Garlic

This pungent-smelling white bulb has the ability to activate the enzymes in the liver that flush out toxins from the body. They also contain selenium and allicin, and both these compounds help in cleansing the liver.

6. Green Leafy Vegetables

All green leafy vegetables, including spinach, bitter gourd, and dandelion greens (whether eaten raw or cooked) are rich in plant chlorophylls that suck up the environmental toxins from the bloodstream. They also have the ability to neutralize the effects of chemicals and pesticides in the body and thereby act as a protective mechanism for our liver.

7. Lemons

These citrus fruits are rich in vitamin C, which helps the body to synthesize the toxic materials into substances that are easily absorbed by water. Thus, it is recommended to have a glass of lemon juice in the morning as it is very helpful in stimulating the liver.

8. Walnuts

Walnuts contain a high amount of the amino acid arginine that helps in detoxifying ammonia from the liver. They also contain omega-3 fatty acids that facilitate the normal cleansing process of the liver. When you eat walnuts, make sure you chew them properly and then swallow.

9. Olive Oil

Olive oil and other cold-compressed organic oils, such as hemp oil, are really good for the liver. They help in providing a lipid base to the liver that can suck up all the toxins and wastes from the body. This takes some burden off the liver.

10. Turmeric

You can consider it as the favorite spice of the liver as it helps boost liver detoxification by assisting the enzymes to flush out toxins.

  1. Grapefruit

Grapefruits are also rich in antioxidants and vitamin C that aid the natural cleansing process of the liver. A small glass of freshly squeezed grapefruit juice is enough to boost the production of the detoxification enzymes in the liver.

Now that you know how to take care of your liver, check for the symptoms mentioned above and start taking precautions from today. It is also suggested to consult a doctor if you feel that medication is required.

Four Days Cleanse Kidney And Gallbladder Stones

Kidney/Gallbladder Cleanse Expel Kidney Stones and Gallbladder Stones in just four days

"You are like whitewashed tombs which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men's bones and all uncleanness."

Matthew 23:27

Americans are probably the most squeaky clean people on earth with their daily showers and deodorants. But inside, they are full of all uncleanness from unhealthy diets. It is estimated that 16 million Americans are afflicted with gallstones. These stones are deposits of cholesterol or calcium combined with bile. Bile or gall is a secretion produced by the liver to emulsify fats so that they can be digested. One possible cause of gallstones is the body's lack of ability to digest certain fatty or processed foods. Sometimes these gallstones pass harmlessly into the intestine, but they can also block up the ducts of the gallbladder. When this happens, the duct contracts in an effort to dislodge the blockage and the result is excruciating pain. To make matters worse, the pain is frequently accompanied by vomiting.

Gallstones is the fifth cause of hospital admission and the third most common surgical procedure. But surgery is not the only answer. Imagine being able to remove these gallstones painlessly, without a knife and without a doctor. If you do the Gallbladder Cleanse, you won't bear the marks of surgery on your body, but you will have the proof that this cleanse works when you see the gallstones released into the toilet.

Common symptoms include chronic gas, belching, pain, bloating, jaundice, headache, bad temper, sluggishness, nerves, or severe pain in right abdomen under rib cage. You may have gallstones even though you have none of these symptoms.

Hydrogenated fats and oils are thought to cause gallstones because they are difficult to digest. Hydrogenated fats and oils are preferred by fast food restaurants and other processed food companies because they can be stored on the shelf for years without going rancid. This lack of spoilage on the shelf is a real advantage for food preparers, but is devastating for those who eat the food. While hydrogenated fats and oils don't easily spoil outside the body, once you ingest them, they turn rancid. And rancid fats are toxic to the body.

The following items also contribute toward gallstone formation:

The gallbladder is a 3-inch long membranous sac attached to the liver. Excess gall, or bile, which comes from the liver, is stored and concentrated in the gallbladder. The purpose of bile is to break fat into microscopic droplets when it comes into the digestive area. When foods cannot be broken down properly for digestion, gallstones may form.

Gallbladder Surgery

We know of a man who complained of severe indigestion. In desperation, he visited his local medical doctor. Upon examining the patient, the doctor found gallstones were causing the pain.

The doctor lost no time in taking care of the problem. He told the patient that his gallbladder must be removed immediately. He was sent directly to the hospital and scheduled for gallbladder surgery. The patient was so weakened by pain that he readily accepted the doctor's advice. Everything happened so quickly that he had no time to go back home and consider alternative solutions.

The patient is now at home recovering from major surgery. It will take many months of rehabilitation for his body to function normally again, if it ever does. He also has a large scar across his abdomen that will be tender for a long time. What are the results of his surgery? He now has no gallbladder and no appendix, which they also took out in the bargain. The operation cost thousands of dollars and weeks of lost work. And that is not the worst of it. Unless this man changes to a more natural diet, his body will continue forming gallstones. They will lodge in the small pocket left from the surgery. All of this pain, suffering and expense might have been avoided if this man had known about the Gallbladder Cleanse. Even when he was in his crisis situation just prior to the surgery, he could have still tried the cleanse.

Removal of the gallbladder is a common operation. If you elect to have this surgery, prices start at $10,000 for the surgery alone. Doctors can go in and remove just the gallstones, but the stones will return. Their solution is to take out the gallbladder. They have been taught that the gallbladder is an unnecessary organ, so why not remove it. Unfortunately, gallbladder surgery does not always solve the problem since stones can still form. Many people who no longer have a gallbladder do this cleanse and pass gallstones.

Incidentally, when doctors take out the gallbladder, which is major surgery, they usually take out the appendix as part of the package deal and you lose two vital organs. Some doctors know about this Gallbladder Cleanse and that it effectively removes gallstones, but doing surgery is just too profitable for them.

Doing the Cleanse

When you do the gallbladder cleanse, you will be performing a bloodless operation. There will be no pain and no scar tissue. The little bit of discomfort you will experience will be well worth it because of the increased health benefits.

The gallbladder cleanse takes 4 days to complete and is simple and inexpensive. Each day for 4 days you drink up to 1 gallon of apple juice and up to 1 gallon of distilled water. You will not feel hungry. The apple juice will give you energy. Take it easy during this time to allow the body to work on cleansing.

This is not the time to do hard physical work. Each morning or evening, do a saltwater flush or an enema to help remove toxins that are being released. It is important to take a daily saltwater flush or enema because poisons settle in the rectum and these poisons need to be expelled from the body before they cause problems.

Drinking the Oil

On the evening of the third night when you are tired and ready for bed, drink 1/2 cup of virgin olive oil or cold pressed peanut oil. Don't buy the refined oils sold in supermarkets. Natural foods stores sell unrefined oil. Chill the oil - it tastes better cold and use a straw to sip it. It is better to not let it touch the lips to minimize the unpleasantness of the oil.

Right after taking the 1/2 cup of olive oil, drink 1/4 cup of fresh squeezed lemon juice. Then go directly to bed and lie down on your right side with two pillows under the right hip. The pillows slant the body so that the oil will leave the stomach faster and go down into the duct area and into the gallbladder. As you rest, the oil will be saturating and cleansing the body tissues. It will feel awkward, but this is the most effective position for the oil to do its work in expelling the gallstones. You may change your position after 4 or 5 hours.

Reactions to Cleanse

After drinking the oil and lemon, you may feel like burping or vomiting. You might sip on a little tomato juice. The acid and the salt in the juice help cut the oil. Don't drink more than a tablespoon or so of the tomato juice. You might want to just hold it in your mouth and then spit it out. Sometime during the night, you may vomit or be nauseated. This is caused by the gallbladder ejecting the stones with such force that it shoots the oil back into the stomach. When the oil returns to the stomach, you get sick. You may be able to feel the expulsion of stones. It will not be a sharp pain, just a mild contraction. In all honesty, you may spend a miserable night. But it is only one night of discomfort. Recovery from conventional gallbladder surgery involves many months of pain and suffering as the scar tissue mends.

Rewards from the Cleanse

You will soon have the reward of seeing the gallstones out of your body. These stones will no longer be interfering with normal body functions. Put your mind on how much more dynamic you will feel after the cleanse. Many people report having increased stamina after this cleanse.

We have known about this cleanse for several years, but we did not think we had gallstones, so we saw no need to investigate further. We were surprised to learn that almost every adult who does this cleanse, passes gallstones. Even though we now eat a more natural diet, there were many years when we ate the Standard American Diet. Those gallstones that we passed during the cleanse had been sitting in our body, obstructing the body's natural functions, for many years. We are glad they are now out.

Fourth Day

On the morning after drinking the oil, you will probably want to lie in bed and take it easy. Use the time for prayer and quiet meditation. You might want to watch videos or listen to cassette tapes or read. You won't be in pain. Continue drinking apple juice and distilled water.

Passing the Stones

Sometime during the fourth day you will probably have a bowel movement. Check the toilet water carefully. When you pass gallstones, you should see them floating near the top of the toilet water. You won't feel pain when they are expelled. The oil makes them slick and the lemon juice takes the sharpness out. The stones are soft when they pass. The stones can be the size of tiny pebbles or as large as the end of your thumb. The stones come in different shades of green and may be bright colored and shiny like gemstones. The color comes from the bile. The light colored stones are the newest. Blackish stones are the oldest. Some people say that when they passed their stones, the toilet water looked like balls of bright green grass.

It is exciting to actually see gallstones that were once inside your body. It is rewarding to see them out of your body where they can do you no more harm. Because they are softened, they seem waxy, rather than stony. They may also be coated with fecal matter. You can get a colander or strainer and try fishing the stones out and washing them off. It is not unusual to expel 100 or more gallstones after doing this cleanse. Continue doing daily saltwater flushes or enemas for 2 or 3 more days after you expel the gallstones to help clean out the toxins that are coming into the colon from the cleanse.

After you have passed the gallstones, you will experience increased stamina. Don't pig out on the fifth day. The body has slowed down and it will take 3 or 4 days to rebuild to a normal diet. For 3 or 4 days following the fast, eat plenty of raw fruits and vegetables and drink unsweetened juices to restart the digestive mechanisms. Eat small meals and watch to see if there is pain after eating. If so, go more slowly. Fruits are easiest to digest. On the second day after the cleanse, a simple vegetable soup with plenty of broth is good.

Shopping list for Gallbladder Cleanse
per individual

4 gallons of apple juice
4 gallons of steam distilled water
1/2 c virgin olive oil or cold-pressed peanut oil
3 lemons (or enough to make 1/4 cup lemon juice)
tomato juice - 1 tablespoon
1 straw (optional)

If you do this cleanse in the fall, look for freshly-pressed, raw apple juice in the supermarket. Or, if you have an apple press, you could use freshly made apple juice. Otherwise, bottled, unsweetened apple juice is fine.

Make sure the water is "steam distilled water." Bottled drinking water is not the same. You do not want water with minerals in it.

How To Clear The Throat Of Mucus

How to Clear the Throat of Mucus

Mucus is unpleasant, nasty, and sometimes stays with you for longer than expected. Luckily, there are lots of ways you can get rid of mucus and phlegm in your throat. Start by providing basic care for your throat and mucus. If this doesn't work, you can try herbal and natural remedies. For frequent trouble with mucus, change your diet to avoid foods that can increase mucus.

Getting Basic Care

1. Clear phlegm or mucus from your throat by coughing. If an excess of mucus has made its home in your throat, it's okay to evict it by coughing it up. Find a remote place, such as a bathroom, and try to loosen the mucus from your throat by coughing or hacking. Make sure not to cough too hard or too much, as it can do some damage.

2. Gargle with warm water and salt. Dissolve a teaspoon of salt into 8 ounces of lukewarm or warm water. Take the water into your mouth, tilt your head back, and without swallowing, gargle the salt water in the back of your throat.

3. Drink plenty of liquids during the day. The right liquids can help loosen the mucus from the lining of the throat as the liquids pass down the esophagus. Try the following for time-tested mucus relief:Warm tea with lemon and honey. This should be one of your mainstays. The acidity of the lemon is good at breaking up the mucus while the honey coats the throat with a pleasant protective layer afterward.
Tea with a sprig of fresh thyme in it.
Warm soup. Chicken soup is a favorite because the broth is light and cuts the mucus. Stick with lighter broths instead of thicker, creamier soups.
Cool water. Listen to your thirst and drink as much water as you need to stay satiated.

4. Try steam treatment. Give yourself a steam treatment and let warm steam travel down your sinus and throat, loosening up some of the mucus that's lodged there. Try the following for relief:Wrap a towel around your head and breathe in the steam issuing from warm water. Even better, steep some tea (chamomile works great) in a large pot, carefully lower your head over being and breathe in the steam.
Take warm showers. If you take a long shower, be sure to moisturize afterward as warm water robs your skin of essential oils and moisture.
Use a humidifier/vaporizer. Allow your humidifier to pump moist air into your room. Take care not to pump too much moisture into the air; a little bit goes a long way.

5. Use medicine that curbs mucus. Generic medicine, like guaifenesin (Mucinex), is available to thin out and loosen mucus. Look for medicines that are labeled "expectorants," which means to clear out phlegm or mucus.

6. Remove mucus on your tongue with a tongue scraper. Place the tongue scraper on the back of your tongue, then slowly bring it forward. Wipe off the tongue scraper, then repeat as many times as needed. This can remove mucus from the back of your mouth. You can find a tongue scraper at your local drugstore or online.

Administering Herbal and Natural Remedies

1. Use eucalyptus oil. Eucalyptus oil has long been used as an herbal mucus relief product. The most effective way to use eucalyptus oil is to line the upper chest area with a carrier oil such as coconut oil and then rub in a few drops of the eucalyptus oil. This might make you cough a little more than expected, at first, but after a while it should help loosen mucus from your throat.Add a few drops of eucalyptus oil to your vaporizer for another effective treatment option. Do not take eucalyptus oil orally.

2. Add turmeric powder to liquids to keep the digestive tract working. Turmeric also works as an antiseptic. Add one tablespoon of turmeric and one tablespoon of honey to 8 ounces of hot water, dissolving. Drink the liquid, and repeat for best results.

3. Eat spicy foods to get the mucus loose and runny. The list of spicy foods that can aid in mucus relief is long. A few foods you might eat include:Wasabi or horseradish
Peppers, such as jalapeno or Anaheim
Ginger and even garlic

Avoiding Mucus-Producing Foods and Irritants

1. Stay away from milk and dairy. Although many dispute the evidence that dairy makes mucus worse, it's best to avoid it if you think that mucus may get worse after you reach for the milk. That's because the fat content in milk may be high, making mucus thicker and more irritating.

2. Stay away from soy products. Soy products, such as soymilk, tofu, and tempeh, although rich in protein and otherwise healthy for you, may increase the viscosity of mucus and cause buildups of mucus in the chest. If you have a choice, it may be better to stay on the safe side and avoid soy.

3. Stop smoking. Just another reason — one of many — to quit smoking if you haven't already. Smoking irritates the throat, worsens respiratory function, and causes congestion.

4. Avoid other irritants such as strong chemicals or paints. Paints and household cleaners such as ammonia may be irritating to the nose and throat, causing further mucus production.

Diagnosing the Problem

1. Know if you have a cold. You probably know whether or not you have a cold. But do you know why colds are accompanied by persistent mucus? Mucus performs two functions:It coats organs, keeping them moisturized and preventing them from drying out.
It acts as a kind of first defense against pollutants and bacteria, which often get caught in the mucus before infiltrating the rest of the body.

2. Know if you may have post-nasal drip. Post-nasal drip is when your body produces excess mucus, and the mucus runs down your throat instead of out your nose. Post-nasal drip can be caused by colds and allergies, certain medications (including medicines for hypertension), deviated septa, and fumes from irritants. Call your doctor if your drainage is foul-smelling or lasts for longer than 10 days.

3. Know if the mucus is being caused by seasonal allergies or an allergic reaction.Allergies can stimulate the production of mucus. Mucus caused by allergies is usually clear, whereas mucus caused by a cold or flu is usually greenish yellow. If you're susceptible to allergies, avoid going outside on days when the pollen count is high, and stay away from:Mold
Animal dander
Dust mites

4. Know that being pregnant can exacerbate mucus production. If you recently found out you are pregnant, that could explain your problem with mucus. While there's not anything you can take, aside from decongestants like Claritin, it should be comforting to know that your ramped-up mucus production won't last forever.

5. Consider if mucus on your tongue could be thrush. If most of the excess mucus seems to be on the back of your tongue, then it could be a sign of oral thrush, which is caused by candida. You might also notice the following symptoms: White sores on your tongue, inner cheeks, gums, tonsils, and roof of your mouth
Redness
Burning
Soreness
Loss of taste
Feeling like you have cotton in your mouth

The Secret Behind The World’s Most Expensive Coffee

The Disturbing Secret Behind the World’s Most Expensive Coffee

Kopi luwak is made from coffee beans plucked from civets’ feces. This is bad news for civets.

It’s the world’s most expensive coffee, and it’s made from poop. Or rather, it’s made from coffee beans that are partially digested and then pooped out by the civet, a catlike creature. A cup of kopi luwak, as it’s known, can sell for as much as $80 in the United States.

The Secret Behind The World’s Most Expensive Coffee
Captive civets are sometimes fed only coffee cherries, the fruit that produces coffee beans. In the wild, their diet includes fruit, insects, and reptiles.PHOTOGRAPH BY ULET IFANSASTI, GETTY IMAGES

Found in Southeast Asia and sub-Saharan Africa, the civet has a long tail like a monkey, face markings like a raccoon, and stripes or spots on its body. It plays an important role in the food chain, eating insects and small reptiles in addition to fruits like coffee cherries and mangoes, and being eaten in turn by leopards, large snakes, and crocodiles.

At first the civet coffee trade boded well for these creatures. In Indonesia, the Asian palm civet, which raids commercial fruit farms, is often seen as a pest, so the growth in the kopi luwak industry encouraged local people to protect civets for their valuable dung. Their digestive enzymes change the structure of proteins in the coffee beans, which removes some of the acidity to make a smoother cup of coffee.

But as civet coffee has gained popularity, and with Indonesia growing as a tourist destination where visitors want to see and interact with wildlife, more wild civets are being confined to cages on coffee plantations. In part, this is for coffee production, but it’s also so money can be made from civet-ogling tourists.

The Secret Behind The World’s Most Expensive Coffee

Researchers from Oxford University’s Wildlife Conservation Research Unit and the London-based nonprofit World Animal Protection assessed the living conditions of nearly 50 wild civets held in cages at 16 plantations on Bali. The results, published Thursday in the journal Animal Welfare, paint a grim picture.

From the size and sanitation of the cages to the ability of their occupants to act like normal civets, every plantation the researchers visited failed basic animal welfare requirements. “Some of these cages were literally the tiniest—we would call them rabbit hutches. They’re absolutely soaked through with urine and droppings all over the place,” said Neil D’Cruze, one of the researchers.

Some of the civets were very thin, from being fed a restricted diet of only coffee cherries—the fruit that surrounds the coffee bean. Some were obese, from never being able to move around freely. And some were jacked up on caffeine, D’Cruze said.

But what he found most disturbing was the wire floor many of the animals were forced to stand, sit, and sleep on around the clock. “If you’re standing on that kind of wire mesh all the time, it’s going to cause sores and abrasions. They have nowhere to go to get off that flooring,” D’Cruze said. “It’s a constant, intense source of pain and discomfort.”

The Secret Behind The World’s Most Expensive Coffee

WOULD YOU DRINK COFFEE MADE WITH ANIMAL POOP?

This adorable tropical mammal possesses a unique quality: Its poop is an ingredient in the world’s most expensive coffee.

Additionally, many of the civets had no access to clean water and no opportunity to interact with other civets. And they were exposed to daytime noise from traffic and tourists, which is particularly disturbing for these nocturnal animals.

Wild or Caged: Who Knows?

All of this for a luxury item—and a second-rate one, at that. Part of what makes kopi luwak so special, experts say, is that wild civets pick and choose the choicest coffee cherries to eat. Keeping civets in cages and feeding them any old cherries leads to an inferior product.

Besides, says one coffee expert quoted in an article for the Specialty Coffee Association of America, the trade organization for gourmet coffee roasters and baristas, kopi luwak just isn’t that good to begin with. Although the civets’ digestive process does make the coffee smoother, it also removes the good acids and flavor that characterize a specialty cup of coffee.

There’s now no way to tell whether a bag of kopi luwak was made from wild or caged civets. A BBC undercover investigation revealed in 2013 how coffee from caged civets in inhumane conditions ends up labeled as wild civet coffee in Europe.

Even Tony Wild, the coffee trader who introduced kopi luwak to the West, warns against it in an article for the Guardian. It has become increasingly industrialized, abusive, and faked, he said.

No certification scheme exists to ensure that coffee labeled “wild” is actually that. And other coffee certifiers working to ensure environmentally responsible farming and production refuse to certify any kopi luwak whatsoever.

The Sustainable Agriculture Network standards, or SAN, which the New York-based Rainforest Alliance and other well-known coffee certifiers use to issue their stamps of approval, forbid the hunting and capture of wild animals on farms. The prohibition of caged civets is specifically singled out in the SAN guidelines for coffee in Indonesia.

UTZ, another major sustainable coffee certification standard, also forbids caged wildlife on farms and will not certify any kopi luwak.

Alex Morgan at the Rainforest Alliance, which uses SAN standards, says it’s too risky to certify kopi luwak. It’s just too hard to establish whether the beans are 100 percent wild-sourced or not.

“My personal advice is generally to avoid it,” he said. “More likely than not it’s going to be coming from a caged production landscape.”

Supply of minerals: The minerals found in sapodilla include calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorous, potassium, copper, selenium, zinc, etc. Each of these minerals also play an important role in facilitating various functions in the body ranging from hemoglobin formation with iron and copper, electrolytes with potassium and sodium, calcium and phosphorous in bone growth, magnesium on the other hand, takes care of chemical reactions in the body.

Supplies antioxidants: One of the benefits of sapodilla is that, just like many other fruits, it is also a good source of antioxidants. These antioxidants are important in all of our diets, especially in infant diets. The amount of free radicals that are produced during metabolism can be countered very effectively by some vitamins and particularly by antioxidants. By giving sapodilla to your baby, you not only ensure good supply of vitamins and minerals but also good supply of antioxidants that protect your baby from the inside. (Isabelle, et al, 2010).

Antimicrobial properties: Apart from being a good source of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, some of the biochemicals found in sapodilla also provide antimicrobial properties. These properties have been carefully studied. Various bacterial species which generally cause diseases in humans have been tested against sapodilla biochemicals and they have yielded good results. (Nair, Chanda, 2008).

Cure for diarrhea and dysentery: Raw and unripe sapodilla is believed to be a good cure for diarrhea and dysentery. Tannins present in sapodilla tree bark can cure diarrhea or dysentery when boiled in water and given as decoction. (Windward Community College).

Cure for cough and cold: Sapodilla fruit can be very helpful in curing cough and cold. The expectorant properties found in sapodilla can relieve from the congestion and clogging that are associated with phlegm and mucous formation.

Measures to be taken while giving sapodilla fruit to your babies

Here are some of the measures that can be given to your babies while giving sapodilla fruit.

Ripe sapodilla: Sapodilla, as a fruit is very good for your child. Usually, the unripe fruit is very hard. Avoid unripe fruit as it would be very difficult to digest. So, wait for the fruit to ripen. Ripened sapodilla fruit would be soft and it can be crushed if pressed hard. This is the right stage to eat the fruit. Also make sure that it is not wet or oozing any liquid, as it could be spoiled. Go for something which is dry on the outside and can be easily crushed. If you think that bring ripened fruit all at once is no good as they ripen and spoil. Instead, select half of fully ripened fruits and the rest unripe fruits that you can store.

How to handle sapodilla: Peel off the outer layers first and then take out the seeds. The seeds are right at the center of the fruit and they need to be removed. These seeds are big enough for your baby to cause choking. So, remember this always to peel and deseed it.

Crush the fruit: Also make sure to crush the fruit pulp before giving it to your baby. Though the fruit is soft, yet there can be issues when a baby eats the fruit. So, do crush it and make a puree out of it.

Effective Way Of Calculating Your Macros

How to Calculate your Macros?

Effective Way Of Calculating Your Macros

A vital part of your fitness journey is to know how to count macros (protein, fats, carbs, and fiber) to achieve your body composition goals. But before we can move forward, we must first find out the number of calories you burn in a day or  Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE).

So now that you know your TDEE, we can start setting up your macros.

Let’s use this example. Bill has a TDEE of 2900 calories.
He can either eat more than his TDEE to gain weight.
Eat less than the TDEE to lose weight.
Eat the same as your TDEE to maintain your weight.

To gain weight, Bill would add 500 calories a day to your TDEE to gain 1 pound a week.

To lose weight, Bill would want to subtract 500 calories to lose a pound a week. When it comes to losing weight, you don’t want to lose more than 2 pounds a week.

Losing more than 2 pounds a week increases the risk of losing muscle. We want to preserve our muscle.

So back to our example. Bill has a TDEE of 2900 and wants to lose 1 pound a week to preserve as much muscle as possible.

First, we subtract his TDEE by 500.

2900-500= 2400 calories a day.

Now we can start setting up his macros.

First, we start with protein.
Four calories per 1 gram of protein
20-30% thermogenic effect
.8 grams to 1.2 grams per lb of body weight.

In this case, we will use 1.2 g/lb.

If Bill weighs 190 lbs, we will multiply 190 x 1.2= 228 grams of protein per day.

Then we multiply 228 x 4 (the calorie value of protein), and that gives us …912 calories.

2400-912 leaves us with 1488 calories left to be split between carbs and fats.

Top 8 Food To Lower Your Blood Pressure

FOODS THAT NATURALLY LOWER BLOOD PRESSURE

When I think about blood pressure I think about those free blood pressure machines you find at pharmacies. I always sit down and let them squeeze the hell out of my arms until some random numbers flash up on the screen.

I used to never know what those numbers meant. I just knew that each had to be below a certain level and if they were then I was the healthiest person on the planet.

Of course, that isn’t true, but that’s how the machine makes me feel.

Your blood pressure is typically recorded as two numbers that are written in a ratio like this: 177/76.

This is read as “117 over 76”. If you really want to get medical it is technically read as “117 over 76 millimeters of mercury”. That makes it sound much scarier than it really is.

So what are these numbers and what do they represent?
Systolic: The top number, which should always be the higher number of the two (if not go see the grim reaper), measures the pressure in the arteries when the heart beats.
Diastolic: The bottom number measures the pressure in the arteries between heartbeats.

Make sense? When your heart beats it pumps blood through your arteries causing them to expand and therefore the pressure rises.
WHAT IS THE RECOMMENDATION FOR HEALTHY BLOOD PRESSURE?

This blood pressure table reflects categories defined by the American Heart Association so if you have a problem with them, then take it up with them. Don’t shoot the messenger!
Blood Pressure Category Systolic (Upper #) Diastolic (Lower #)Normal < 120 < 80
Prehypertension 120-139 80-89
High Blood Pressure (Hypertension) Stage 1 140-159 90-99
High Blood Pressure (Hypertension) Stage 2 160-180 100-110
Hypertensive Crisis (Go to hospital now) > 180 > 110

A single higher blood pressure reading doesn’t necessarily mean that you have high blood pressure. You could’ve just climbed Mt. Everest so it’s important to do multiple readings over time. If they all show consistent readings of high blood pressure then you will need to work on lowering your blood pressure.

Here are 8 foods that will help to lower your blood pressure naturally.

1. BANANAS

Potassium also naturally opens up your blood vessels allowing your blood pressure to decrease.

2. BERRIES

All beans contain soluble fiber, potassium, and magnesium. The combination of these nutrients allows your body to pass sodium faster, cleans your blood vessels, and keeps your bowel movements regular.

5. LOW-FAT DAIRY

Compared to high-fat dairies, low-fat dairies contain calcium and vitamin D which have been known to help reduce blood pressure. They also form milk peptides, which help aid in heart health, when they are digested.

6. NECTARINES

Nectarines have a high quantity of potassium and magnesium. They are low in sodium as well. By this time, you know exactly how each of these nutrients will be able to affect your blood pressure.

7. SPINACH

Spinach also has a high quantity of potassium and is low in sodium. They contain a lot of nitrates as well. You can think of spinach as having the benefits of both beets and bananas.

8. SWEET POTATO

Calcium, magnesium, and potassium are the key nutrients in sweet potatoes. A lot of people avoid eating the skin of the potato, but if you are trying to look out for your health, then you should really consider eating the skin. The skin will give you that extra boost of nutrients without overdoing it.

OTHER WAYS TO LOWER BLOOD PRESSURE

Of course eating these foods alone might not help you get to the blood pressure readings that you want. You’ll have to add in some other things to help with lowering your blood pressure.
Maintain a Healthy Weight

This is the most important step in maintaining healthy blood pressure. Losing excessive weight is important for lowering blood pressure.

Exercise Regularly

Nobody is saying you have to hit the gym, although that will help. Incorporate daily walks into your routine. These are helpful for lowering stress and dropping your blood pressure.

If you want to take it further than daily walks then you can start with yoga or Pilates. By stretching your muscles regularly, you will improve circulation, alleviate pain in the muscles, improve your posture, and take a major step in helping to reduce hypertension.

Manage Stress

Stress can have a temporary effect on increasing blood pressure.

If you can keep your stress low then that’s just another way to maintain a healthy blood pressure.

Exercising is a great way to lower stress. You can also try meditation and deep breathing.

LIVE LONGER

Living a healthy style also means that you are making the right choices for your blood pressure. Maintaining a healthy blood pressure means a better outlook on life.

Live longer. Live happier.

Keto Diet Side Effects No One Wants to Discuss

If you want to burn fat more effectively while still enjoying the taste of great food, then the Keto diet is a fantastic option for you. This diet will not only help you to burn fat efficiently, but it also has many health benefits. Many healthcare professionals across the globe even recommend it.

How is the Keto diet different from other diet routines? It is because it can help you lose extra fat without making you feel hungry.

Before we move on to understand more about the Keto diet, let us quickly go through the working process of this diet.

What is a Ketogenic Diet, and How Does it Work?

In a nutshell, the Ketogenic diet is a very low carb and high-fat diet. The drastic reduction in carbs puts your body into a state calledketosis. When your body enters into this state, it becomes very good at burning fat for energy. It also turns your fat into ketones in the liver, which can provide power for the brain.

What Are the Side-effects of the Keto diet?

You may have heard about the many benefits of the Keto diet, but did you know it comes with many of side-effects? The Keto diet can cause a significant change in your body by shifting it from a normal diet to a very low-carb diet all of a sudden. Thus, a sudden shift can send your body into a state of “shock.”

The most common outcome of this shock is experienced by many people in the form of flu known as Keto flu. The Keto flu can last from a week to a month. It can cause you weakness, fatigue, insomnia, and various other issues, including possible skin rashes and loss of muscle.

You might also have severe mood swings and an inability to focus. You need to keep track of your body’s changes while on the Keto diet and talk to your doctor to discuss how to avoid or minimize these side-effects.

The various side-effects of the Keto diet must be taken seriously, especially by three types of people.
If you an on a diabetic medication like insulin.
If you are on a medication specifically for high blood pressure.
If you are a breastfeeding mother.

This diet is especially critical for all the groups mentioned above of people.

Other than that, there are several other risks which are associated with this diet. That is why it is recommended to consult a nutritionist or your doctor before you start the Keto diet.

1.) It Can Disturb Your Digestive System

The first impact of any diet is on your digestive system. It can make your digestive system very fast, or it can make it extremely slow.

In the case of a Keto diet, your digestive system becomes very slow because you are missing out on some vital fiber producing foods like fruits and vegetables. Under such conditions, the most common side-effect is constipation.

Since whole grains and beans are also restricted on your Keto-diet, there are higher chances that you will fall victim to constipation and troubled bowel movements.

To avoid this condition, consume Keto allowed fiber-filled foods like almonds, avocados, flax seeds, and chia seeds. These foods are not only a good source of fiber, but they help you lose weight while keeping you fresh and energetic. However, do not forget to take these foods in the right amounts to avoid weight gain.

2.) Your Body May Lose Salts

The first effect of many diets is the loss of certain fluids. The Keto diet is no exception. This diet, like many other diets, can disturb your body fluid balance. This side-effect usually lasts for the first couple of weeks.

The reason behind this problem is that your body uses stored glucose. Due to this, water is released in your blood, which is passed out through urine. Along with the passing of fluid, salt is also washed-out of your body. As a result, your body becomes deprived of salts.

To avoid this condition, make sure you drink lots of water to keep yourself well hydrated. If needed, you can always add a little salt in your water and also increase its quantity in your daily diet.

3.) It Can Cause Deficiencies of a Few Vitamins in Your Body

Since you stop eating various kinds of fresh vegetables, fruits, and dry fruits, you miss out on several essential vitamins needed in your body. There are severe vitamin and mineral deficiencies associated with the keto diet.Because of the same reason, it is not advisable to stay on the keto diet for an extended period. It is not considered a proper long-term diet as it is not balanced and can cause severe complications in the long run.

Due to the deficiency of many vitamins, minerals, and electrolytes, you can feel tiredness and fatigue. Under severe conditions, insomnia is also reported.

Tune Your Keto Multivitamins are a great supplement to help supplement the crucial vitamins and minerals missing from your diet while you are on the Keto Diet.

4.) Severe Cramps

It has been reported that a keto diet comes with some severe leg cramps, and they can be a source of trouble for you. The reason behind these leg and body cramps is hyponatremia. This condition occurs when your body loses so much salt that the sodium level drops to a dangerous situation.

Thus, this condition can cause your body to experience severe fatigue and cramps. The best solution to avoid this condition is to include enough salts in your daily diet.Another helpful answer is Keto Vitals Electrolyte Capsules, as they have electrolytes components to help stop muscle cramps.

5.) It Can Damage Your Kidney

Kidney damage is the fatal damage your body can go through while you are on a keto diet. The reason is again the same old, less intake of water.

Eating lots of meat and not having enough water is a habit of many people while they are on a keto diet. Not only does it increases the risks of kidney stones, but also it can make your urine much more acidic, and as a result, you can fall a victim of the famous “uric acid.”

The only way to prevent this condition is always to keep on hydrating yourself throughout the day.

6.) The Most Common “Keto Flu”

Let’s talk about the most common issue associated with the Keto-diet. You must have heard about the word “flu,” but did you know about “Keto flu” before you started your Keto diet? Well, the initial weeks of a keto diet can be daunting and hectic for you. Moreover, it is also difficult for your body to adapt to certain conditions and changes quickly. That is why your body tries to be defensive against these changes and eventually adopts a condition known as “Keto-Flu.”

Since the primary source on which our bodies rely is glucose, and in the keto diet, the body changes its energy-producing source from glucose to ketones. Thus, it is a massive change for the body to accept, and the result is keto flu.

You can experience any one of all of the symptoms given below while you experience keto flu.
Extreme hunger pangs
Loss of sleep
Fast heartbeat
Tiredness
Dizziness
Slow brain functioning

These are only the initial side-effects, and your body will more likely adopt these conditions after a month of the keto diet, and things will go normal for you then.

7.) Breath of Death

One of the most hated yet most common side effects of a Keto diet is that it makes your mouth stink. This phenomenon is commonly known as keto-breath, and it mostly occurs after a couple of weeks when your body starts burning fats.

The reason behind the bad keto breath is the release of ketones, which are also through your urine as well as sweat. Other than the bad breath, people on the keto diet also report a terrible metallic and unpleasant taste in their mouth, which further makes them uncomfortable.

However, this effect isn’t long-lasting, and it eventually disappears as you enter the fourth or fifth week of your keto diet routine.

The best solution to this problem is to keep using mouthwash three times a day and keep a sugar-free or mint gum with you in case of extreme situations. Also, don’t forget to brush your teeth three times daily to get rid of the bad smell as well as the hostile taste in your mouth.

8.) Loss of Muscle

Another side-effect related to the keto diet is the loss of muscle. That is why many athletes are advised to keep doing their resistance training while they are on a keto diet. The reason behind the loss of muscle is that your body is missing lots of muscle-building substances like carbohydrates. Since the main building blocks of muscle are protein and carbohydrate, that is why a low carb diet to severe muscle loss.

This is one of those side-effects of the Keto diet, which cannot be avoided because you cannot increase the intake of carbohydrates in your diet in any case. This is a source of distress for many people who are looking to build muscle and lose fat simultaneously.
9.) Impact on Athletic Performance

Keto diet is the popular and most preferred diet of many athletes, but there is a higher risk associated with this diet in the case of athletes. They can severely disrupt their fitness and forte. According to a study, many athletes, especially those who are involved in cycling and running, can profoundly affect their performance and their strength if they keep following the keto diet.

Thus, it is highly discouraged for athletes to adopt a keto diet.

10.) Impact on the Blood Vessels

Keto diet can also affect your blood vessels if you enjoy a cheat day within the diet. It can also have many long-term adverse effects on your internal strength. The reason behind the damage of blood vessels is that whenever you try a cheat diet within your keto meals, your sugar level can suddenly rise, which can lead to the damage of your blood vessels. That is why it is imperative for you to properly understand every rule of a Keto diet before starting it. You should also take the advice of a doctor about whether to start the diet on not.

11.) Aggravates Gallbladder Issues

There is terrible news for the people suffering from gallbladder issues. If you previously had a gallbladder problem, then the Keto diet can be harmful to you. A high-fat diet can exacerbate gallbladder diseases, and it may even increase the chances of developing this disease.

If you ever had gallbladder surgery in the past and it had been removed for some reason, then you will face the issue of digestion. Moreover, the diet can also harm your overall health, causing weight gain, bloating, and may even trigger digestive discomforts.

That is why the Keto diet is not suitable for you in the long run if you notice any of the above issues after cutting down your intake of carbs and increasing the fat intake.

12.) Long-term Side Effects of the Keto Diet

Did you know that remaining on your Keto diet can cause you to fall into unhealthy eating habits like overeating of meats and even saturated fats?

Well, that is true because most people who are on a Keto diet start consuming all kinds of fats, even the ones which are bad for you. This habit can trigger the build-up of plaque in the arteries. Moreover, it can also affect the functioning of your brain and heart. Thus, as a result, staying on a Keto diet for a more extended period can increase the risk of high cholesterol and heart problems.

The best solution to this issue is to focus on the intake of unsaturated fats like nuts, oil, and fish. You can also take the fish oil capsules, especially salmon oil, to avoid the deficiency of any vital vitamin in your body.

13.) “Keto Crotch”

Although it is an uncommon side-effect, you can surely fall victim to it. Keto crotch is a condition which arises as a result of sudden changes in the pH levels of your body due to a drastic change in your diet plan.

Since it is our diet that is responsible for maintaining the pH of our bodies, it is while under a keto diet, your body may develop a change in the pH, which can further alter the vaginal pH. Due to this vaginal change, you can experience a severe vaginal odor or yeast infections, which might affect your relationship or may become a source of embarrassment.

14.) Effect of Keto on Mental Health

It is going be hard for you to maintain your mental health while you are on a keto diet. The reason behind this is again the DIET.You need to avoid drinking, smoking, eating desserts altogether, and many other delicious bounties if you are following a keto diet.

Not only this, but also the low-carb diet can lead you feeling emotionally exhausted and cause severe mood swings. This principle generally applies to all kinds of diets, but Keto is much tougher than other diet plans. Moreover, a Keto diet not only requires your powerful willpower, but you will also need to develop more tolerance against mood swings, hunger pangs, and resisting some special dinners and delicious meals.

So, it is not going to be pleasant, but it is going to be worth it if you follow it correctly.

Final Thoughts:

The Keto diet is one of the most successful ways to reduce your weight quickly; however, it is not a good idea to follow it for a more extended period because this diet is not balanced. You need to leave out many fibrous foods like fruits, vegetables, and beans. Moreover, you must be medically supervised if you want to reduce your weight by keeping inside the safest ways possible.

Another piece of advice for you is to keep yourself hydrated as much you can. The perfect amount of water you can consume while on a keto diet is around 3-liters of water. Proper water intake will not only keep you away from many side-effects, but it will also keep you lively, fresh, and energetic. Moreover, it is also a good idea to take specific vitamins by the prescription of your doctors like magnesium and potassium supplements.

Your doctor can give you the best advice because not everyone is perfect for the keto diet. The people suffering from chronic illness and high blood pressure are not good candidates for the keto diet and must take the advice of a doctor.

Due to the deficiency of many nutrients, you can also fall into the risk of developing osteoporosis, cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, and bad cholesterol.

Thus, we highly recommend you to take your health seriously and never forget to take the consultation of a doctor before experimenting with anything with your body. Remember!Your health and your life should be your priority.
